The SoCal Challenge is an NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament produced, owned, and operated by JLC in partnership with former Division I head coach Steve Barnes. Held during Thanksgiving week, the event brought top collegiate programs together for premier early-season competition.

Broadcast nationally on CBS, the tournament became known as the “Maui on the Mainland,” delivering high-level basketball and a polished broadcast environment before NIL dynamics ultimately reshaped the landscape.
